Nick works at the Open Philanthropy Project, and was previously a Research Fellow at the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford University. He majored in mathematics and philosophy at the University of Minnesota, and completed a PhD in philosophy at Rutgers University.
Nick’s research focuses on the practical importance of very long run outcomes for civilization, and deals heavily in the topics of existential risk, population ethics, and decision theory.
